A typical street in Knightsbridge.

Knightsbridge is something of a "Park Avenue" in London given its proximity to Hyde Park and its sought-after postal code. Here, long rows of elegant terraced housing in regal red brick sit above some of the most exclusive retailers in the world. Despite the busy hub-bub of shoppers and tourists that flock to the area, the lush trees lining the street, along with the nearby Hyde Park, give the neighborhood an air of tranquility. Shops include the iconic Harrods Department Store, Prada and Jimmy Choo; the most elite of banks, restaurants, salons, bars and clubs can also be found in the exclusive neighborhood.

Somewhat out of place in the north of the area is the 30-storey Hyde Park Barracks that stands out -- and up -- from the red and white rows of townhomes.
